Good morning everyone. Figured I try and get my winter project ready for restoration and need a little help. This crawler has been In the family for years but only recently have I been able to acquire it. It’s missing it’s serial tag but I do have all of the sheet metal that’s not pictured (it’s in horrible condition). Is there any other places they may of stamped the serial number? Also I’ve been told it’s a wide track high clearance instead of just a regular high clearance.. Would they be correct?  Other than that I’m sure I’ll need a complete rebuild, water pump, manifold, and other hard to find items. I also have a spare one just like it. Just missing one half. Any help or advice is greatly appreciated.

Great project. Looks like a high clearance 10. Not a high wide 10   The high crop 10 is wider than a standard narrow gauge 10. here’s a picture of mine looks to be the same.  Mine does have offset shoes making it slightly wider.

Check for serial number on the flat raised boss on the engine where the generator would mount. Also on the top of the transmission housing behind the plate where you adjust the steering clutches. It is stamped in the housing so you may have to scrape paint or rust off to see it. Scott Flint can help you with the sheet metal. I have many of the parts you may need.

Very nice restoration on that Ten!!! I like the lights and the belt pulley on the rear. I’ll have to hunt for one so I can use it at the fair for running our stationary bailer. Are they difficult to find?  Possibly I could CNC a adapter plate to use one from a IH tractor.

Brewzer thank you for the info I’ll look tomorrow to see if i can find it. I’ll up load some more pics of what I have for it. I’m really fearfull how damaged the engine is. I drained a gallon or more of water out of the engine today.

Standard gauge 37", wide gauge 44". You will quickly know what it is when you measure with a tape.

The high crop 10 is A different animal. No 37 inch gauge in the high crop. They are 44 inch gauge. Some have spacers to make them wider for specialty crops.

Hopefully I measured this correctly. From center of font idler to center of front idler I’m 44”  would that be correct or should I use a different measurement point?
