What is the trick to get my sprockets to pull off my 22?  I pulled the threads out of 1 of the 9/16 hole and I have my 1/2” piece of iron bent on the other side and I’m afraid to put any more pressure on it.  Do I have to heat it?  I think it is a tapered fit.  I can’t figure out how to find it in the library.

I think those 22 sprockets were either keyed or splined, I reckon the early 22 had a keyway, and the later 22 were splined, BruceOz is the 22 guru, he will finish photographing birds in the bush soon and will no doubt chime in.

I'd use some heat on the hub for sure, just make sure that large nut is still on the shaft but loosened off a fraction, you don't want to see your sprocket go flying through the shed wall when it pops loose!
Good luck

yes warm it gently and liberal application of penertrant oil. penertrene works well. and its not expensive either. get a proper gear puller when you tighten the puller using a brass hammer give the puller screw a couple of good sharp taps with the hammer then tighten again the shock will help it come loose be aware it may release suddenly

You might need to use a proper puller that is rated for at least 20t. If your piece of 1/2 is mild steel, it wouldn't surprise me that it bends, and the fact that it's bending means you're not really getting as much force applied as you hope. The thing about these sprockets is that they take a varying amount of force to remove them. Some are on hand tight (like mine where the splines are worn) and others you'd swear are welded on. Farmer tools work sometimes but not always.
My other 5U sprocket which are basically the same as your Twenty-Two sprockets took all of 20t to remove. I reinstalled it at 10t.

Cheers,

The holes are not tapped to a 9/16" thread. Run a tap in the holes 5/8-11NC to clean them out.use a bottoming tap so when you screw your B7 all thread in they go all the way to the bottom of the holes . Get a good bar puller too.
If that doesn't work a three jaw puller of 30Ton capacity may work with some heat and a sledge hammer on the center forcing screw.
Lets see some pictures of your setup.
Here's my setup on a 15 I'm working on, 15's and early 22's have the smooth taper and one key. I used the 17.5 ton ram and hit the forcing screw with a sledge hammer.
Put a safety chain on in case it flys off.
