Goodie! I think I’ll bring a couple of loads.
CTS Snowfighter agreed to demonstrate tail seat tractors, specifically rope start pony engine equipped. I hear it can be quite shocking…just remember that you feel the jolt all the way to your shoulder blades, you have a “hot” mag. JM

Rope Start "pony" engines -- HMMM --- There is a better way!
No more "blue air", no more busted hands and burned fingers from that nasty unbooted spark plug just below the choke and throttle -- and no more of that "shock treatment".
Oh - I forgot about that contortionist act of just getting the rope around the flywheel on the starting engine - 3JD2 Standard Gauge - Tail seat

Get the SIXTY! D2 will not win that argument, it will obediently follow, even if it slides both tracks in protest!

(I had a short section of chain between the track frames as a yoke)

OK Juiceman - Let's Do This! I am anxious for you to show me the rope starting procedure, and how that shock treatment relieves all anxiety about the tail seat rides.

Please - let's all show our appreciation and SHOW UP!

See you there JM! Shoes, gloves, hat and the ubiquitous Canon too!

CTS

I would dearly love to make it to this venue, however testing posative for Covid on Tuesday prevents my attendance. Very mild case, no hospital stay, doing OK so far.
And it was not only tail seat D2's that would shock you up to your shoulder blade, my dad's D4 5T was pretty good at it if you were just a little bit careless or in a hurry. Only had a rope starting pony, no electric start. Drove that old cat for many years, has since been retired. TT44.

TT44 you are running out of excuses. You said earlier you had to go fishing! I have heard from several friends that say they have had sickness several times now; so much for the shots and booster. You apparently did not get enough smoke and dirt in your system to toughen up. Get well friend, there will always be other shows to attend.
In the meanwhile, I will ponder what to bring. This year I am determined to sit down and enjoy the dinner they host.
Our fearless leader of Chapter 15 Greg Shandel will have some big iron out there. Come on out and join everyone for some fun. JM

our 6u gave dad a love bite when he started it while it sat on the tilt tray when we bought her home.
mum and phil were standing beside the truck and they reckoned they saw the spark jump across to his hand in broad daylight. and it was phat and blue.

Warning: Spoiler!
Those high voltage jolts are hard to forget!
We sent a few loads to the Patrick Ranch already; anyone that wishes to operate a tractor, just come see Greg or myself. I have enlisted some gentlemen farmer/trucker type guys to drive some around in the open ground. The more the merrier.
I am also hijacking this thread for the 2022 Courtland Pear Fair… Always the last Sunday in July… 7-31-2022.
Please join some of us. We will display some iron and hang out under the BIG oak tree and swap tales.
Come get your pear “fix” and say hello. JM

Going to be a warm one - be sure to bring your sunscreen, wide brimmed hats and drink plenty of fluids.
Rumor has it, JM has something special planned. Maybe an item on one of his cats that many have not seen in operation?

Do you know why these "plates" are attached to the track frames of this tractor?

I expect this machine to be present at this show, maybe even a demonstration of these "special purpose" attachments.
From a "bygone" era - almost forgotten!

Come see, come enjoy the show -   Chapter 15 has put a lot of work into this event.

Hi, ctsnowfighter.
Heck, even I know what those jiggers are for and I come from an 'underprivileged' part of the world where everything is allegedly upside down. They are berm breakers for smoothing out plow berms when you hafta cross them. The fold up out of the way when not needed and fold down when needed.

Azfer 'underprivileged' and 'upside down'. tayka look at this site:

Just my 0.02.

You have a wonderful day. Best wishes. Deas Plant.
