i would say you don't get paid but just get a cheaper program with ads ,pay more no ads

If you are a paid up member, the solution is to sign in, you can set your preferences to auto sign in every time so it isn't an issue or impost.

Being a non-member I'll chime in. Under normal circumstances I might stop by the forum once every six months just to see what's going on, so ads or no, there's no incentive to shell out my limited funds for a membership.

This week the ads are fine, mostly machinery related stuff. A week or two ago it was Men's Warehouse and then some sketchy clothing ads featuring some Kardashian type models. I actually laughed at how poorly targeted those ads were considering the likely demographics of this forum.

If the ads aren't making a significant financial return, then there's no point to having them. Trying to annoy people into joining doesn't seem like an effective strategy.

The ads are targeted at the viewer by Google based on their past viewing history. ACMOC is not involved in content.
I certainly hope ACMOC is getting some revenue from them.
