Hi, side-seat.
Couldn't find the engine from that 6160 but I did find a couple of other Fairbanks-Morse engines running. Here are the links, including to an opposed piston engine which I didn't know they had gotten into.

And now to some old Cat videos:

This one is a newer video of an OLD tractor:

sadly i never took video of the big mirrlees k series that i worked on starting up. very similar to that fairbanks morse as they too where used for power station work.

"i reject your reality and substitute my own" - adam savage. i suspect my final words maybe "well shit, that didnt work"

instead of perfection some times we just have to accept practicality

Craig, I'll dig that one out. I think that vintage of the magazines are in my "Toy Box" building with the AF trains and RC Airplanes.

Hi, Folks.
To resurrect an old thread with a new video from way back when, changing to farming with tractors in Idaho in the 1930s-40s

Never seen 30's and 60's move so fast pulling an implement, must have the film speeded up, lol, usually they are slower than molasses at shows.

Hi, ROME K/G.
Man, yer gotta git yer comparisons correct - "Slower than COLD molasses."

But I suspect that you might be right. Those old combines didn't have the throughput capability that the modern ones have.

Testimonials

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
