I would use a oxygen/acetylene torch with a rose bud tip to thoroughly heat the bolts(very red) then allow them to cool completely. You might have to do this several times. This will free the bolts.
Craig
Ok, I have a rosebud tip and two full tanks.
Thanks,
Scott

How hot has it been there in Texas?
It has been 111 here in Central California for weeks. Supposed to cool down to 102-104 soon. Needless to say nothing getting done here.
It actually hasn't been brutal. We've only had a handful of days with the highs over 100, but I suspect that will change soon.
Thanks

Thanks for the update and photos. Sorry Craig, I agree to disagree on the 4D batteries. They might be "proper" for the application, but 31s are easier to source and lug around! Seems like the only "large" batteries 8D/4D that last, are the CAT labeled ones that stay in the rentals I have here. BTW, your 164 magazines went your way yesterday. ..
I hope like heck utilities were included in your rental agreement! No insulation on that wall; maybe I am envious, no AC here, just 2 18x14 doors and shade.
Enjoy your time off, keep us posted on your project. JM

Utilities are indeed included!
Thanks,

Looks like you got a great upgrade on a place to work there. Sixteen minutes away, concrete floors and a newer building. That mini split is the cherry on top, I am amazed on how inexpensive and easy to install they are compared to traditional systems.

The 24k units were $1,100 each from Amazon and have great ratings.
The shop is brand new; I'm the first tenant. It's in an industrial area with several commercial shops in the area, including a diesel mechanic a few doors down.
Thanks

Long overdue update. Work has been brutal, but finally got time to edit and post another video. Bottom line - trying to figure out if it's a parts machine or not -

I sent the 977 on down the road about a week ago. I'm always game for tackling a challenging project, but this would've just been really dumb. Anyway, I made some new friends, gained valuable experience, and I broke even, so it's all good.
I think I need to look for something a bit smaller and a bit newer next time...
Thanks,
Scott

What have you got your sights on next? A shame about the 977, but we all got to learn something. D2's are always fun and easy to transport...JM

Not sure at this point. Maybe a D3?
Thanks

D3 is a good choice - new undercarriage still available, smaller unit easy to transport. And, easy to start : )
