Hello, my brother, my father and i collect Cat dozers in France and we plan to come to England on july for the first time to see some summer shows. We’ll first go to the Welland Steam and country rally (Welland, Worcestershire) on saturday 27 and sunday 28, july and on the next week end (august, 3 and 4), we’ll go to the Cromford steam rally in Derbyshire.Hope we’ll see some crawlers on this shows. I know there are a lot of Cat or tractors collectors out there and i am wondering if any of them would have some time to show us their collection during monday 29 and august, the 3d.
Thanks
Alexis

Alexis,
I purchased my Snider Crawler ( Similar size of a Caterpillar 2 ton ) from a farm in France, and Imported over here. Would you have any information on Snider Crawlers. Built in France using German Tank Technology is about all i know. Using bayonet quick connecting oil filler from tank designs. .

Thanks Neil, i wrote to John Gaunt !
To Catman, what you have is a Schneider crawler ! It was fabricated in the city of Besançon, during the 20's. Here is an ad concerning this brand.
And here you have a thread about this brand in a tractor forum with lot of pictures. Some of them were transformed with Diesel Douge engine :

If you need some more information or parts, let me know.
I will send you an email concerning our summer trip.

Yonitod7 I have No Manuals or Operator Books. No Literature at all on this Schneider machine. Originals would be very nice, or at least a photocopy of an Original if you could find anything. Do you Known how many of these machines are Known to Exist ?, i think its a 1922 machine.
Mrs Catman, Used to work at Perkins Engines Distribution the Original Massey Ferguson tractor build factory in Trafford Park. As an Export Linguist speaking French and German, So No Problem if I need a Translator.
Looking forward to you visiting the Cat Cave. Are you planning to write an Article in a French Tractor Magazine on your Trip to England ? My Wife would enjoy reading a French Tractor Magazine Publication Smile.

haha ! You want me to write an article about catcave ! Why not ! There are some old tractors magazines in France and they should be interested.
Concerning your Schneider crawler, they are quite uncommon in France but some people collect them. I found this website particularly interesting since there are a lot of informations :
tracteurdevigneii.jimdofree.com/tracteur-schneider-siam/
I wrote to the webmaster to try to find some operator book or parts catalog. I'll tell you as soon as i know sthg.
Thank you for the advice Glum concerning the headache ! We'll be careful
