Placed this in the usual discussion forum in case people don’t read the stickies! Pete is hanging up his pencil and paper after long and distinguished service to the Club, his tireless efforts in taking minutes, organising and attending Board meetings will be hugely missed! Thank you for all the time you’ve put in Pete! Finding a replacement is our urgent task now, please could we ask for a volunteer willing to take on the role? Monthly online meetings with the Board, recording minutes and posting them on the website are the basic tasks required. If YOU think you can help us and join the merry band who attempt to steer the Club’s course and to help administer the background activities please get in touch, either by replying here, PM to any Board member or email This email address is being protected from spambots. On a personal note I never thought that getting involved in the Club’s day to day running would be such a great use of time and be so rewarding so give it a try!

Regards,

Tony (Director)

This thread needed bumping up! Pete wants to enjoy his "golden years" before he is too rusty to do so...he was hoping to exit his role before he becomes 90?
He has been doing a wonderful job as "Recording Secretary" and we will miss him when he eventually gets to "retire". He is the bond that keeps us in line...
It is a rewarding job. Myself, I remained passive throughout the many years of being a paid member; over time I did realize how much I had gained from the club.
Fast forward I feel much better about being able to give something back! Before you say for me to do it, I get the pleasure of being a national director PLUS lead our chapter in California, so my hands are busy while having fun.
Someone should consider trying the job. Without volunteers, we would not have a club.
I also wish to thank Pete Oswald for his dedication not only to the board, but the entire club. JM

there is note taking software available so that might be a stop gap measure or be able to be used to assist another of the directors in this role. just a thought. and no i cant do it my note taking is terrible. as are my organisational skills.

the club i was part of used to tape record the meetings that way the secretary could replay sections and type it up at his pace later.

Thank you TK88; "Zoom" meetings are recorded and the person can play back and such, to create the minutes/transcripts.
The position is still open folks...This is a very important role. I do not believe the recording secretary has to be a member.
I have a print out of what the job duty entails, step by step and well written by our current recording secretary Pete.
We have been looking for over 10 months now, and this goes to show folks how important it is to volunteer.
Give it some serious thought, as Peter Oswald is getting antsy! We would love for him to do it forever, but he deserves a break too!
