I too have a rack setting book that has some of the little older engine model nozzles in them. All that changed the part number was the seals it to install them in the prechambers. I worked for the local Cat dealer here in Pa. for 36 yrs. & ran the engine rebuilding shop & dyno. testing for them & also worked on over the road truck engines. Now the Co. has separated the truck engine shop from the tractor shop but are still at the same buildings but are two different separate areas of the large branch building.I have been retired now going on 16 yrs.

The current number for the D2,D4,D6 cartridges is a 6H3364. Cost ranges from $15 to $22 after market. The 6H number comes from the D6C. May also be listed under service part numbers 2S4442 and 3S6638.

Sorry cannot help with 9F5937 VSG., need NPR access to update P/No.
My chart only crosses VSG to Noz. P/No., it is a chart we made up ourselves and it served us OK over the years.
5M2788 VSG= 8N5986 Noz.-- 3S6638 VSG= 2S4442 Noz.
7S9891 VSG= 7S8722Noz..
Aha--OM to the rescue again! 6H3364 VSG= 9F4113 Noz.
Hope this helps and not confuses.

SJ,
I too did 43 years with local dealer. 5 year Apprenticeship, 2 years Conscripted Army National Service:- 12 months in Vietnam as a Plant Operator/Fitter, am now 2 years a retired TPI Veteran.
After Nat. Serv. did work in Revenue Bays for 3 or so years, with 2 as Leading Hand, nearly 8 years L/H in Trans/Hyd Shop including setting up and operating Wolff test bench, 6 years Engine Bay as Fitter and Dyno op., 8 years Fuel Pump Room. Was always given the Flat Seat Injectors to do, right to the last week! 14 years Senior Mechanic, also stoodin in any of these places as needed, assisted Cat Engineers, special projects, troubleshooting etc.
During the last 2 years of my apprenticeship I repowered some 7 or 8 on Hwy. trucks with 1670 and 1673 engines. No more were done after I got Conscripted! Sorry I have run on.

Eddie - Who did you serve with in SVN? Were you in Engineers or RAEME? .. and what year/years were you in country? I was a Plantie with 17 Construction, and was there from Sept 1970 to Aug 1971.
We rebuilt roads .. ran the quarry in Nui Dat .. ran a Quarry up on the Long Khanh border .. mined sand off the beach near Phuoc Hai .. unloaded the "Jeparit" .. operated the Land Clearing Team .. and generally tried to avoid trouble .. :D

This thread and pics, will bring back some memories, I'll wager .. :)

OzDozer,MATE!
was also with 17, mostly in Vung Tau. In country May 68/69. Double posting because of Civvy Qualifications, Plant Op./Fitter.
Finished up L/cpl. in charge of Plant Maintenance, at both Nui Dat and Vung Tau, still Operated machines whilst assisting Workshops in repairs and troubleshooting, we were super short handed.
Also was in charge of Crushing and Screening Crews and Tar Sprayer, I had the rear controls of the Thornycroft tar truck.Tarred most of 1ALSG roads and those out front and side of same.
Also was the only 22RB Op. as I did the last 12 week Plant Ops. Course. Laid 80+% of the concrete in the Harold Holt Pool with 22RB & P&H cranes with skip. Enlarged and deepened the Water Point Dams with 22RB Dragline-- many months work-- people off duty used to bring deck chairs and beers to watch! Very satisfying machine and attachment to master and operate well.
Did a lot of very satisfying Civil Aide work, trouble did find me, but others did worse.
Was part of a crew to use an ERRICSON Skycrane, 120 MPH down drafts were interesting, to place a new Eiffel bridge section on the Double bridges at Song Co May river crossing, near the Hard Stand, between Baria and Vung Tau. Local contractor bribed Malitia Guards to allow his 30 RB on low loader to cross so the French equivalent of our Bailey bridge collapsed. Sorry I waffle on again.

EdB.
