I have been contacted by the owner of agricultural tractor 7U1412, according to my information it's a late 1947 model is this correct?

The 7U went in production in 1947 so depending what time of the year they starting making them I don,t know but it sounds pretty close that it was made in 1947 or early 48. My book only has start up production dates listed.

Well, it looks like you can't believe those early Caterpillar Performance Manuals either. Must be a Republican publication.....a Democrat one would get them all wrong.

I agree with the year but my book says # 1 to 1539 = 1947 and 1540 to 4072= 1948. catskinner

While everyone has the books out how about a 7u-21836? I found a chart somewhere but have forgot where. I thought it is a 1953, now I'm not sure

Looks about right, I show 20,460 - 25,415 for 1953. Who knows if any of this stuff is right:rolleyes: :rolleyes:
