I "overhauled" the pony on a low horse D8800 power unit for a fellow once. It was a running engine that came out of a grain elevator. The customer took it to a guy to have it painted. The guy let the engine set out for about a year or so. This one does not have a hood so the water ran right down the air cleaner and reaked havoc inside (another one of Cats "great" ideas). The carb froze and busted and had to rering the old gal. It did not have the electric starter option either, just the crank coming out the side. I wore blisters on my hands starting that thing. The next time you would walk up the little devil would fire on the second crank.
I did enjoy getting it going though.
