I ment what is the spark plug gap supposed to be at??? And it depends on how much my g-pa will allow me to spend on the tractor... As well the aftermarket/fabricated starter decided to go out on me as well so now i have to get it rebuilt so hopefully i'll be in buisness on wednesday... And do you guys put unleaded gas or do you put the lead additive in the gas???

Replied by edb on topic Tractor Serial Number
Hi LCM,
the spark plug gap by the book is 0.025" Usually to be kinder to old magneto coil windings I run mine at about 0.020"
The boys are asking what is your tractor serial number as the fuel line setup varies.
The 22 tractor can be either a 2F or 1J prefix to its serial number. The S/No plates may be found on the side of the engine near the crankcase oil filler cap, and I think on the rear face of the transmission case.
Hope this helps.
Cheers,
Eddie B.

as well were is the oil filter on these cats??? i know it's the toilet paper filter:)(the metal filter) but i don't think the one i have was stock because i don't see it in other pics of other peoples 22's... and when i do an oil change i know to use the non detergant SAE 30 but what do you do to the filter if anything? i am new to it all... and i did clean the carb... just about every tube/hole in it was clogged so im pretty shure that that was my problem with getting it started and to keep it running... and i read how to set the MAG you turn it backwards to time it??? am i understanding that correctly??? and i will post a pic of what i beleive the oil filter is and the aftermarket oil filter... (this is only what i am thinking...)
