i have heard some people say not to use tank sealer so i was just planning on not sealing it and just trying to keep it full or empty! then it will not rust...
It will still rust as long as air (oxygen) is in there. Light surface rust at first, then will get worse over time. As the rust particles start to flake off, that's when trouble starts. Don't worry about it though, it could be a decade or more before that happens again.
To Seal, or Not To Seal...that is the question. Some guy's swear by it and others swear AT it. I myself have never used it. I just clean the tank's as you did knowing that at some point in the future I'll end up doing it again. If the sealer is not applied properly (I.E. my 1931 Allis Chalmers U) it can cause More problems than the rust did.

and again thankyou all for all of the help with my 22 i just sat down and reread this whole thread and i want to apoligize for how i acted in some of the posts:( but you all kept helping me... THANK YOU!!!
looking at it now every time i hit the starter it fires up!!! i love the sound of that thing it sounds like a low rpm diesel to me:)

Congrats on getting your tractor running good lcm and thank you for taking us along. I was able to learn a lot about my tractor just by following this thread as you worked your way through it.
