You can get that restored (or you can do it yourself). The restorer cleans up and repaints the face and pointer - they look like new. If the capillary and/or bulb are faulty, there's a fairly straightforward procedure to replace with a new generic one from your local auto parts store. Basically just requires some ice water, a short piece of copper tube that fits over the capillary, and your soldering skills. You can't easily find good replacements that look original so if yours works, it might be best to get it restored. If you don't want to restore it, then I'll buy it off you because the gauge is missing from the Twenty-Two that I look after

I have a few guages . One is complete and registers when put in hot water but I am not sure it is accurate. The oter 2 have the wire broken off at the gauge. I will post some pictures later today. Email me if interested.

Hi Team,
links to gauge repair methods--in this day and age of PC you may find it hard to obtain ether in a private setting--may be possible thru a business.

Hi Eddie, that's an interesting procedure. Here's another one that seems a little simpler and required buying a new $30 temp gauge from the auto store, dipping the bulb in dry ice or even ice water, cutting the capillary then using a copper sleeve sized to fit nicely over both capillaries, and soldering said sleeve to the capillaries. No need to fill the bulb because it's already full, and the only prep required is to clean up the capillaries ready for soldering. I think I'd want more assurance around what method to use to cut the capillary without closing the hole, and how to prevent the solder from migrating into the hole. Other than that, this seems straightforward. Mind you, I haven't tried it but if someone with bad DTs like me could do it, then I think anyone could - www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/threads/capi...replacement.1043778/

The first one is the one that works. It needs to be cleaned inside as the needle sticks on dirt. The second one went from 120 to 140. It might work better if cleaned. The 3rd picture is guages with the sensor broke off. Alll of them need to be cleaned. #1 is $200. #2 is $150 and the others are $50 each.
