Is that a factory 7u manifold or off something else?
I assume plumbed for oiling?

Would that have been used for high altitude as a "normalizer"?

They mounted the manifold upside down to keep it mostly under the hood most of it is farm made. This gives around %20 more hp. they did this a lot back in the day both the d4 and d6. Thanks for asking d4harry

I looked at the D2 and figured the manifold could be turned upside down too

That looks cool Gary - how many cubic inches is the D315, did they reduce the compression ratio, and I see the pictured tractor still has pony start and in-seat starting controls - very nice!

About 350 cubic inch. Compression stayed the same. Depending on altitude the rack setting would be changed.

I wonder how confident the designers were in the manifold's flange holding up to carrying the turbo and that big casting bend plus possibly a muffler or at least a stack.
