hello folks, i am new to the antique caterpillar restoration world and the Antique Caterpillar Machine Owners Club.
I have recently acquired a 1957 7u D4. the engine is shot so i found a second engine, a little older, but intact to replace it. the motor i have purchased is complete except it is missing a few pieces. i am in need of a magneto with the drive gear. my serial number is 7U10426. thank you in advance.

Welcome: There was a rebuilt magneto on Craigslist Stockton, CA for only $200.00 this morning. That is a very good price, if it is really rebuilt.

When I got one of my 955C 12A04040 1957 Traxcavator several years back the mag coil had been bypassed. #04040 came with a new mag with a receipt showing $310.**
In the Parts Book that came with #04040 was an ad from www.farmshow.com dated 2011
