Points and condenser for R2

More

I have a 1939 R2 4J number 17 in good running condition. Trying to find points and condenser for a tuneup. Everywhere I look nobody has info going back that far. Is there anyone on this forum that would have information on part numbers or crossover numbers for these parts and where to get them?

I have a part book for my 6J.  Hope these pictures help you. Note that these are Eisemann numbers and not Caterpillar numbers.

Thanks Pete. I have the Eisemann magneto model CM-4 and have found those numbers that you sent. Just haven’t been able to find the parts yet or even an updated cross reference number. I’ll keep looking. Thanks again for your help.

Wow that’s a low serial#. We have 4J1005 SP. it’s straight as an arrow and all original but the head has been off for some time. And I’m not sure what the special parts were because there’s no signs of lights, pulleys, or attachments. Take some pictures when it’s done!

Thanks for the reply. My R2 runs great right now. Just planning ahead to try to find spare parts for the magneto. If the mag fails some day maybe I just need to get the whole thing rebuilt. I’ll send some pictures when I figure out how to attach them to this post.

The CM4 is a pretty easy Mag. to Rebuild , Condensers I can't find buI I repack with a capacitator and work very well. Coils I get Rewound , and Points so far I never needed to Replace, I have heard of Folk replacing the actual Points themselves But Have not tried or want to. I do have a spare set if Needed . Caps are more problem for Me as I have a couple with Broken of Tips [where wire Goes in ] .LJ
