Default ACMOC Member and Guest Member Status

    Hello!

I’ve learned that there are some ACMOC Members/Bulletin Board users whose status isn’t reflected as “ACMOC Member” but rather “Guest” Member. There are a few reasons for this. We may not have the email you use on the BB connected to your membership data which could result in two accounts. It could be because, when you joined the Club, there wasn’t an email connected at that time. Your email may have been changed over the years or possibly a membership was purchased for you by someone else. It could also possibly be a technical issue which I'd like to get fixed.

If your account isn't reflected correctly, please email me (mary@acmoc.org) so we can get things straightened out. Please include your name, username, and the email you use on the BB along with any other information that may be helpful. Other emails or usernames used now or in the past and previous addresses should you have moved over the years can be very helpful as well. I'll get things updated as quickly as possible and follow up to let you know when this is done. This won't affect your access or history to the BB -just want to be sure that all identifying information is correct.

I appreciate your help with this......Thank you!

    Mary

    Default Silly Thought

    Hi Team,
no doubt this has been discussed but, when I worked at The Dealer I was the Go To for such queries--since I retired some 16 years ago there is basically no one doing this.

I fought long and hard to keep the old literature and tooling--alas, when I Retired it got dumped along with my Cat School Books that they pleaded with me to leave for them :-(

Seeing this site is the Go To for older Cat Equipment queries--I know that Dealers tell enquirers that they do not have any literature or expertise to handle such queries---they basically refuse to help due to time and cost constraints as well, so they tell enquirers to get on ACMOC to get their assistance and answers for any queries on anything before about 1980, so if we are their Technical Service Department then would it not be reasonable for them to chip in for running this site.

Maybe Caterpillar should be acquainted with this current state of affairs with their Dealers unwillingness to assist with obsolete machine queries and so may wish to assist themselves, as well as suggesting that Dealers may wish to chip in too.

Even if the Chip In was only to help defray costs of setting up the new BB and its ongoing running costs of maintaining the BB each year.

Pie in the sky I know but if you do not try you will never know.
    Cheers,
    Eddie B.
