    A good friend of mine has a 7u 30A North of me, next time I see him I'll get Ser# for you. Nice tractor with factory blade, draw bar, rope start pony. I do have a couple pics but I don't know how to downsize them! My better half might be able to help me? but dare not wake her up could be dangerous . Mike.

    Default D4d...

    is my 1973 83J 2670 an antique yet?
    You only need two tools in life - WD-40 and Duct tape. If it doesn't move and should, use the WD-40 If it shouldn't move and does, use the duct tape.

    Default RD4 --> D4 Change Over

    It's great to see these serial number lists developed!

    Regarding the 4G series, there was a change made from RD4 to D4 in late 1937. The parts books and other sources do not identify the exact date or serial number of the change. My own records from inspecting tractors at shows and auctions and sales literature suggest the change was most likely somewhere between 4G8227 and 4G8237. Attached are photos of 4G8242W - a very straight tractor with original D4 markings.

    Here is a chance to nail this down more precisely. If you own a tractor near the serial number range 4G8227 thru 4G8237 please reply regarding its markings as RD4 or D4. This hunt can turn up conflicting data because over the years some tractors may have interchanged RD4 and D4 radiators.

    (The same excercise needs to be conducted to identify the exact change over for RD6 --> D6, RD7 --> D7, and RD8 --> D8.)
