Lake Goldsmith steam rally is coming up on 1st & 2nd November, it is approximately 40kms West of Ballarat. This rally is featuring Caterpillar, William Adams are very kindly supporting ACMOC and Chapter 19. We are very fortunate to have this very generous support, the envy of many other Chapters who don't have the support of their local Caterpillar Dealer. Caterpillar Australia will also be present with their vintage grader.

We look forward to a good roll up of ACMOC members and are ready to sign up new members, this is a very popular Rally and a fantastic site. There will be working displays of both steam and Caterpillar machines both days.

We intend to have a Chapter 19 meeting Sunday morning at 8.30 at the ACMOC and William Adams stand, all are welcome, this time I hope not to be sick as I was at Corryong.

I encourage as many Caterpillar collectors as possible to bring their vintage Cats for the Rally.

Hi Team,
have spent some of last two days at The Dealer in Clayton getting their D4 ready for this turn out. It has sat outside for 10 years since I Retired and has recently had a 2 pack coat of the new shade yellow.

Tomorrow we go and fetch Williamson's Holt 75, then back to get the D4 and maybe an RD4 that belongs to the Government and Special Project Sales Manager at The Dealer. The Dealer D4 will now get some TLC.

Later in the week we go to Horsham Branch and fetch the D337 engine and the Thirty Tractor among other Private exhibits to fill the week.
The Dealer is also going to have a D7E (electric) on their Stand.

As Wombat said, Caterpillar Of Australia is going to be there with a Stand proudly displaying their newly restored Early Australian Production No 12E Motor Grader. This in itself is a significant and much appreciated precedence here in Australia for the Vintage movement.

Looking like a great turn out of Cat and other machinery for this not to be missed Rally. I have heard a rumour that there will be an exciting newly modified Vintage D8 there so be on the look out.
Will be busy for the next while it seems.

Good to hear of your hard work on those dealer tractors Eddie, at least we know there will be a couple of old Cats running on the weekend!!

Sorry to say that I cant make it this year. I would have liked to meet up with other like minded members from around the state and country. I hope that some body can take a few photos and load them onto the site for the rest of us.
