The 3rd pic shows a bit of wood 6+6 that I had to stand on to keep my feet out of a small stream of water that was running under this tractor as I struggled to get the torque/divider,flywheel and back casing bolted up.

Dang, those are some miserable conditions you always seem to be in:eek: Oil, water and dirt just don't mix well for me. Raining here today and I sure am not motivated to go pull a final off a D4 in the mud:D
Still amazes me what you get accomplished in what appears to be "mostly" very poor working conditions.
Thanks for the pics. Don

I see that you have been supplied with a nice, warm tea cabin.why has it got window wipers and lights on it???.They have even painted it Cat yellow so that you can still find it in the dark. They're spoiling you or do they stop it out of your payment?

Today I have been changing a rotary coupling (the thing that passes oil down to the tracks from the top frame on an excavator) other fitters where supposed to do this for the Co, but I think all the oil dripping from the failed coupling must have put them off, this excavater is dripping oil like a busted fridge, most of it is from the slew ring grease path, this excavator is an Hitachi 200 something or other???
Tomorrow I am hoping to start collecting up all the bit's that have been dumped all over the place off the little D6H tractor, this tractor hurts my eye's to look at it what a " knacker " I have some great pic's of it , I would like to see it working again, I just cannot understand how a small engine fault has ended up in nearly an empty Chassis Frame.

P.S. I have been told that I get all the best Job's???? I would hate to get all the crap ones.

KoO in the U.K. the only thing that realy stops the Earth spinning is " SNOW " we are not very good at coping with it, well I am not, in 1962/3 it snowed like hell, my Father was out of work for 10 week's (he was a house Builder) when he managed to find some work , it was still freezing cold and the snow was still deep, we had little in the way of food and cash was always in very short supply, not like to-days well heeled life, my mother took me to a window and said " look out there son ,your Father is digging trenches in that freezing weather, with the cold freezing his hands, to put food on your plate , I did not eat a thing for 3 days as I did not want my lovely Dad to suffer for me, when you are young things are so taken to heart, those words of my Mother often come in my mind still, so I try to avoid SNOW.
