on the weekend 15 or 16 september he had a D8K stolen from a gravel pit
at Broom, nr Sandy Bedfordshire beside the A1, serial no 66v5467 with
straight blade and tilt and a 29 winch on the back, its an ex Aidy Morris
tractor that was featured in the classic tractor magazine,it had also
just been fitted with brand new running gear, with the national and international coverage this board has someone might have seen or heard something, the tractor stands out from most with the paint job,if you

R.B. at least they have good taste, this tractor would be spotted a mile off, in the U.K. it must be in a yard being made ready to export, the general thought is that kit is moved abroard that day, I myself think,/ know that this is not the case ,the theives tend to do a long term storage number, a good end location for this tractor would be Nigeria, in the U.K. the Super Grass is every where,

How the hell do you steal a bulldozer?

How big a pair of nads do you have to have to even attempt that?

ETD66SS,you ask how big a bulldozer is,well let me tell you. Many years ago we were doing a housing job and over the weekend someone took one of our Cat D9H for a joy ride across the street and through the backyards of about 12-15 homes. No one called the police or did anything to stop it. What did stop them was the tractor ran out of fuel. That's where we found it when we returned on Monday in a fellows backyard. He did come out and asked us what we were doing,I asked him just what he throught when it came to a stop in his backyard. He didn't have anything to say.

I know that my CAT 225 & D6C use the same key...

Does the newer CAT equipment have more unique keys these days?

Yes,they do use all the same key.Back when they only had the master key,if we didn't have one with us you could always use a screwdriver.

Are they sure it's not sitting at the bottom of the pit under water?

Heard earlier this evening that Chris had lost the D8-hope and pray he gets it back.
We had a 2003 John Deere 6520 and new dump trailer stolen two months ago,had only made two payments!!!!! No point in, looking for it,we were tipped off the paramilitaries had stolen it,so any enquiries would likely result in an obe(one behind the ear-a bullet in other words)

Someone passed comment How could you steal a bulldozer-very simple,as what happened to us the thieving scum drove a lowloader onto the site shortly after we had finished work so passersby would assume we were taking the tractor to another job.

Do a Googles for “Equipment World” search for "Hot Iron March 2005". There is a lot of good educational information on those that steal construction equipment and what you can do to prevent it . Even one story about an outfit I once worked for.

hi Neil, with a bit of luck someone just might see it when they move
it on if it hasn,t already left these shores, not that many D8Ks are
being moved around it only takes a phone call to verify whos it is
my mobile no is 07885894548 i,ll pass all info on to Chris, ireland
might be a stageing post for them to move it on,i think Chris has
spoken to most of the uk shipping companies to be on the lookout
for it,yes lets all hope he has luck finding it,a Norfolk based firm
recently lost a brand new cat330 digger, and another incident where
the police closed off a motoway lane so a low-loader could pick up
a 20 tonner then the driver turned up to find it had been stolen, the
police are always too busy dishing out speeding and parking tickets
to look for stolen goods, all you hear from them is your insured arn,t
you
