The Annual Pioneer Day Parade will take place next Saturday Oct. 6th @ 10:00 AM. This is the parade where we drive the crawler tractors right down the main drag through down town Paso Robles, California.

This year we will have 2 Holt 75's, Holt 45, Best 75, Yuba ball tread, Cat 22 sideseat and grader, Cat 60, 30's and various other tractors. My favorite non Crawler is the 1910 Gas Traction Prairie Tractor that is one of very few known.

All are welcome and the parade and show after the parade is free.

There is also a Western Regional gas engine show Fri., Sat and Sunday that is in the same location as the tractor show after the parade.

Hope to see you there.

Tom, are more Cats welcomed? If there is room I might be able to my D4 over. The parade sounds like fun. Mike

Chris,
While you're there you need to network with some of those guys as to where to get services/parts for your D8.

Thats a good idea OM. I'm looking for undercarriage for my D8. Heck, the bushings are so worn out I can see the pins.

Any suggestions for Chris and I on how to get the word out for needed parts? Maybe pin a flyer to a pole

Hi Mike,
Best method I know is to talk it up with other Cat owners, in this case the ones with the "big iron"

Some of my car restoration buddies used to walk the shows and swap meets with signs/billboards attached to themselves.....whatever works:D :D

I just spoke with Jess and even though he lost his first haul for the Best 75 and the small Yuba Balltread, he found a truck at Joe Heidricks and the tractors will arrive Friday late afternoon.

We are bringing the Best 75 and Yuba tractors down as there were several of both tractors in the Paso Robles area in the teens and 20's and none have been seen in these parts since. We will also be passing out flyers for the 2008 Woodland show and will have banners on the 75 doing a bit of free advertising.

There is also a Western Regional gas engine show at Pioneer park on Friday, Sat and Sun so there will be lots to see and hear.

Hope to see you guys here. If you do come, please come up and introduce yourself. I am the lucky guy that gets to drive the Best 75 in the Parade. Just look for a really big grin. Jess will be driving Don Hunter's Holt 75 pulling the Land Leveler:D

Willie will be on my side seat 22 pulling an off brand grader and Leroy, aka Mr. 22, will be in attendence with his sidekick Levi.

mike mc, just get your cat up and running then worry about the tracks. if they fall off during the parade then you have a problem but for now enjoy the cat the way it is. remember you saved it from the melting pot, now go and cuddle with your lady, it must be a chilly 70F down there. LOL

those tracks i would cat train hundreds of miles on and not worry, but then again i could also sink the cat through the ice in the first 10 feet, LOL
