Trespassing?

Here is an example of what this has to do with Antique cats. There are counties in Minnesota that have used both aerial and satellite photo's to determine that a site is blighted(old machinery sitting around). They want to come on the land and take more pictures to prove their point about the need to clean up the site or at the very least require the owner to get a expensive conditional use permit for running a salvage yard or museum. They try to impose lots of rules and regs concerning numbers of machines stored/sold/moved/runnning vs. non-running etc. We haven't even talked about counting the photographed machines and then determining the quantity of pollutants such as oil, fuel, antifreeze. Then they use their archived photos to police all their regulations.

Hi biggastractors,
Tried to take a humorous view of the situation but you are right on target. Intrusive trespassers can be a serious threat to this hobby, considering some environmentalists consider rust to be a toxic substance. Guess some folks aren't sharp enough to see the threat.

The dear old Tax Accessor can also be a problem as they seem to have the right to use there camera to record what your doing. Some times don't even leave you a message that they have tracks on the site. I guess I had pick up some of the small pieces I have left outside to weather to the dirt off. Clay

Couldn't agree more with ya George. If its not in a covered, concrete floored garage with all the latest "liquid recovery" systems ( if you have more than three) it seems you are a "gross polluter" and creating a "blight" on the neighborhood with "all that junk" in your yard. "Code Enforcement" and other jurisdictions now use "GIS" and "Google Earth" to track these "offenders" and make them clean up their "sites" to the strict EPA standards.
A gentleman that goes by the name "Doc" in my neighborhood had, I repeat had, a very handsome collection of cars all between the years 1920 to 1950, all neatly lined up along the edge of his meadow and in barns throughout his property without a visible reflection to the roads around. They came a knockin' and now all he has left is the miscellaneous crap that also accumulated through the years ( he's 93) which the "officials" had no concern about.
Another thing abbout this "digital encroachment" is it more than likely will be used when the EPA finally finds enough liberals to enforce the Diesel Smog Guidelines when it passes to find all of our "Gross Polluters" and force us to scrap them. Are we ready to give up all our Cat 22's ( I know their gassers, but still w/o catalytic converters, etc.) D2's thru D8'S etc. Or how about that Holt 75?
There...that should cover why were talkin' bout trespassin' and what it has to do with Antique Cats!

Sorry guys,

I've been over at ACME for a year or two and they have a spot for "off topic" conversations. Habbit got the best of me.

I have all my farm posted for huntiong and trespassing. Also if your lawyer serves notice on a agency that should keep them off property. they have sent the sheriff out with pictures of worthless infractions where they were clearly on posted places. now they want to create a water management district, tax us to drain off water?? being I get flooded by drain water this seems teribbly unfair in my situation.....

You guys got me scared yesterday. After reading some of these posts I downloaded Google Earth & homed & zoomed in on my place. Now I think I know why our taxes went up this year! And why the neighbors act like they do.
And all my 'treasure" don't look like treasure from "up there!"
Then I mistakenly showed my wifey how Google Earth works & what all can be seen, and why I need to clean & straighten up stuff.
Few months ago I had promised her "No I won't do it anymore" when she gripped about me relieving myself out behind the shed.
This morning, using Google Earth, she caught me at it again behind my 9U while I was waiting for it to warm up......

I am curious to know when the photos were taken that is in the google earth system and how often they update. The pictures for my place is current as of about may. A horse trailer that I sold in June is still sitting in my pasture and a 22 that I got in july is not shown where it is sitting. Another thing, how do you get it to get more clear. The photos are horrible if you try and zoom in too far.

Google Earth transfers the images about once a year. The free site does not have the clarity or frequency issued to "Government end user", as for the reason of "Homeland Security" and their fears,. Currently, they are after Google Earth for security issues, as if you look up "Marysville, Ca." and look to the airfield to the east (Beale AFB), you will see one of their spyplanes on the tarmac! Other areas have a yellow informational pointing out all the old Titan Missile silos.
