Cat 30 master clutch was created by D6 Pete

Hello all, i have a Cat 30 standerd gauge, have never got clutch to snap over centre properly, changed fingers, no good, any ajustment , in or out, no good. Question is- is it best to get at clutch by spliting tractor ?or do the top come off easy? Thanks for help. Peter. ps i think something is worn bad and or moved stopping the collar going forward proper!!?
