How about only the classified section be published online to ACMOC members only. I can wait a couple of months to read an article about safety, however my grip is getting the magazine several weeks late, and missing all of the deals in the classifieds. Perhaps they could just have the classfids posted on the website BB.

We could set aside a segment of the website for members only. I understand the need for timely advertisements, and we know we have a serious problem with this issue. I will raise this question with the magazine committee. GWH

George, that was pretty much what I was thinking. If we were all issued some sort of ID number that would follow our membership (member # ?) then we could perhaps enter it when we would link through the BB for secure access to this portion of the site. I know alot of clubs keep track of the membership by assigning a serial number or ID. This way it would be easy to determine paid up memberships, thus access. As far as the magazine getting pirated, this could be addressed with a secure site. And as far as freinds of members getting the magazine, what's the difference if you see it on my coffee table? Allowing a glimpse of an article could garner curiosity, and perhaps get another paid member. It would be like a free sample. As I have said before, I'm here to talk.

Lots of good suggestions. Folks that frequent the board know when to look for the next magazine but as I understand it, a lot of the ACMOC membership does not participate on the board for various reasons. There are probably numerous members that never receive some of the magazines and no one is the wiser that the magazines were not delivered. Unfortunately our decrepit postal department often delivers some of my first class magazines right along with the other third class with no speedy delivery. It appears that if it looks like a magazine, although it is first class in a wrapper, they toss it in with all the rest of the media mail.
I'm just rambling but a separate members section on the board and or posting the classifieds on the board could be a helpful means for at least some of the members.

D4 Jim, when we took a survey last year, we asked who had computers. As I recall, about 40% of our membership does not have a computer or does not use a computer. Bruce, I will communicate your recommendations to the magazine committee for further review and consideration. The next issue of the magazine will be mailed on Monday (if it wasn't actually mailed this afternoon). GWH
