Hi D4e,
I don't really know the Cat 10 but I did a little research on the plugs. Please somebody correct me if I'm wrong.
Started out with a Champion Type 1 COM......which led to a more current replacement Champion W-14......which has an alternate of an Autolite 3076....which turns out to also be a special design plug for the Ford Model A & B

These are for a 7/8-18 tpi, 15/16 in. body and 5/8 in. reach plug.

Check Willies site for the head torques.

You will most certainly have much better luck with the autolite plug
Champion plugs just do not last today.

d4e,

I agree with Ron. Go with the Autolites, they are a much better plug.

I'm attaching a simple drawing of a cylinder head...it is NOT a Cat TEN head. But it shows the sequence in which you want to follow. The important thing is that you start somewhere in the center and work your way out toward the front and rear edges. Snug them all first in that sequence to about half the final torque value. Then go back and bring them up to the spec. After you heat cycle the engine, re-torque the head again. Then recheck after several heat cycles.

I torque mine to 55 ft/lbs. On the lower side of the scale, but always seals and I am weary of the cast integrity of the cylinder head. Don't want to break anything.

Pat's picture is a great example. Typically any head will be torqued by starting in the middle and working your way around in a spiral fashion out ward. Torque in steps or increments and you should be fine. BUT, if you have service information available, always refer to that.
