D7 4T starter conversion

I am going to convert a gentelmans D7 4T to electric start because the pony is stuck ,and I believe found most of information needed. The Question is Whether 12 or 24 volt . I understand the differences and pro and cons of either one, so what are you using to charge the batteries. My idea is to use 12 v alternator and it makes life simpler , wheras who makes 24v ones? One could use a series paralel switch but arnt they a little antiquated and expensive and just a pain? Who is a proven supplier for the complete starter package needed? Thanks.

To my knowledge, no one is making a complete conversion package.

The best recommendations are:
For the starter
C & C Battery in Corpus Christy, Tex
1-800-531-1038 (Talk to Ken Sr. or Jr.)
or
www.tractorparts.com

I don't know what these starter sources have for alternators.....might ask.

For the alternator
Canevari Bros.
Woodland, Ca.
530-662-0228
or
Contact www.Florintractor.com
This is for a well made unit with flex coupling gear drive and cooling fan.
Choice of alternator and voltage. (They are pricey but well made)

I know there are other direct mount alternator conversions out there but they are junk.
