Found/Bought/Moved Another Collection

I was doing my usual driving around with my eyes open when my rust alert went off. There against the back fence of a vacant lot was an odd assortment of farm implements, etc. What really stood out was the big Austin pull grader at the front.

I was able to find the owner and arrange a meeting. This collection is all that is left of his father's farming operation from the '30s & '40s.

There was a cement mixer with a Stover engine on it, 2 big hay rakes, a homemade tractor built from auto and truck parts, a couple discs, spring tooth harrows, etc. The Austin Grader had been converted to a drawbar pull, but the original front axle/turntable/steering was nearby. Back behind some trees I found a very nice, D2 sized tumble-bug type scraper, not worn out or bent at all.
(woo hoo new Playday toys!)

I made him an offer for the items I was interested in, and he counter-offered by letting me have it all for a little more!!

So I spent about 12 hours on Sat. moving it all, it took about 7 trips. Now he wants me to look at another yard of his, with a partially disassembled D4/dozer, IH crawler and 8N/9N amongst other things...

Replied by Deas Plant. on topic More rust.
Hi, CarlSharp.
Good one, Mate. More rust saved from the gas axe and the long sea trip. That little scoop looks to be in good condition - chain saw job to salvage it? Thanks for the photos.

Catchyalater.

You have a wonderful day. Best wishes. Deas Plant.

Yup, Deas, in real good shape, edge is sharp and no wear on the strips or skids. Also it had two levers, one to trip the dump and one to move the angle of the cutting edge a few degrees. Looks like one could actually grade with it!
