Hey all. It's been a while since I've visited. Used to be a regular on the old board, but stop inn every now and again.
My old girl sheared a cap bolt and busted the rear u-joint on the double cardan that connects the range trans to the hydraulic trans. My question is, does this thing need to be replaced as an assembly or can the u-joints be replaced individually? I don't see how the joint caps can be pressed out of the cap that bolts to the trans flange. Am I missing something?
Any help is sure appreciated.

It might be just as well to see if you can find a used complete one and you could try this Cat dealer in Pa. that has a used parts branch. They are Cleveland Bros. and the # is (724) 325-9478 and ask for Dean Tressler. They are out in the western part of the state but not sure but think they are more in the southern part of western Pa.

Chip... the u-joint is a 6H2577, 8 bolts to the flanges are 6H7868,
1/2NF x 2 1/8. 8 bolts to the plate (center piece) 0S1579 1/2NF x 2
The plate is a 3H8141, discontinued, as is the 2H8357 assembly. Ed

I have are 3H6104 for the joints and 3H8142 for the cap screws, but they may be the old numbers.
Thanks Ed.

Correct, Chip, old #'s. 3H6104 = 6H2577 and the 3H8142 = 0S1579 Ed
