looking for the dimensions on a pump lifter gauge

So back to my D2 project:
I can not source a D3400 Lifter gauge for setting the proper height part # 4B6059
Would anyone happen to have the actual dimensions of the gauge so i can reproduce one?
I have a general idea what they should be after dismantling a pump but... i want to be sure.

Why not use the depth micrometer method? Setting is 1.741"

Is that measurement between the arrows from top of lifter to base of individual pumps?

Yes, right out of the Servicemen's Reference Book for the D3400.

Thanks, that's one book I do not have.

I used a dial indicating caliper with a .250 piece of key stock over the hole. Didn't have a depth gauge. Added the .250 to my setting.

Hi Team,
when these engines were first released this was the style of Tool recommended to for Lifter Setting.
Each family of engines had one.

As time went on Cat had different lifter settings for the same engine family but used in different applications often with different Injection Pump camshafts that required different lifter settings.

As a result they came up with the depth micrometer adjustment procedure to save getting the Tooling mixed for the various applications, etc.
I did find that we did have a few various sizes, etc. of these hidden away at The Dealer--likely to save any confusion.

Cheers,
Eddie B.

Make sure the pump base is clean and free of paint also.

since i do not have a book on this engine, we set the pump cam where the #1 cylinder was TDC and so would the #1 lifter.
Is this correct? the pump cam only has a slot drive coupling so its only one way or another.

That's correct, firing order is 1-3-4-2.
Pump order is 1-2-3-4
