Can someone please post a drawing for this governor. I have a book coming but do not want to wait. Long story short is the governor is not pushing the rack open. I can push the rack by hand and the engine will run. I can feel the governor fighting to slow the engine even at an idle. I believe someone has had the governor apart while trying to get the pony pinion out. The locking tabs are unbent on the bolts that hold the bellcrank together. I believe the arm on the bellcrank may not be engaging correctly to the latch in the pump end of the governor. An old post suggest that the latch may be idle and stop???

Thanks,
Dave

Thanks Pete
I can see how it works.
How do you adjust the idle stop bolt and what looks to be high rpms.

Pete, Thanks Again for the pics
Got the D4 to run tonight and it runs well.
Once I figured out how the governor worked it was pretty easy to spot that the hack that worked the tractor had put the damn throttle arm on backwards. It was the last of a list of everything from missing gaskets and
o rings to plugged fuel passages and a dead pony. Gonna check out the rest of the tractor tomorrow then throw the clutch and see if it rolls, steers, stops and has all of its gears. You remember my cat 12, threw the clutch and no gears. Ya never know
