I've only seen one other drive like it. It was on a D4 that had a side mounted generator. Most likely some military application or maybe oil field usage.

Hi, Folks.
The early Trackson sidebooms used a similar drive on the opposite side for their Hoist and luffing functions..

That blade lift arrangement doesn't fill me with a lot of confidence in engine block longevity.

Just my 0.02.
