Well I got the serial number its 2F6738W. I cleaned the points and tried to test spark with a spark tester but it was really hard to tell when cranking I couldn't tell if it had spark or not. So I gave it a little shot of starting fluid and on the second crank it sputtered to life chugged a few times and died. I want to change all the fluids before I go any farther but I need to fix the cross over spring before its safe to get under it. But it seems to run,

Thanks Bruce Oz. Here's an update on the 22. I found the problem with the cross over spring! I was thinking maybe the main spring was broken but not all of them. I used some springs from an old 60 something Chevy 2 ton truck and back in business. Still need to trim the retainer so the spring cover will fit. I got a video of it starting up put some gas in the tank changed the oil checked the antifreeze shot some starting fluid in the little port in the intake manifold and it started on the second crank. The main clutch is stuck not slipping I was trying to put it in gear and it popped into revers and luckily killed it. I did pull both steering clutches back and got it in gear and drove it around the pasture everything else seems to work good. I attempted to lift the up the blade all the way and blew a hose but getting closer.

Twenty-Twos are great little tractors and it doesn't take much to get them running sweetly - tons of enjoyment!

Ok so I was trying to sell this little Dozer for a while. I didn't think I had time to do a clutch job. But after no real interest in it decided to start pulling the engine. I took the fuel tank off and took the bolts out of the pressure plate I decided to turn the engine over to see if the clutch would disengage and it did. So I put it in reveres and started the engine. After I shut it back down I noticed the the pressure plate moved farther than before. I put it all back together and the clutch works good now. Must have had something in it. I fixed a few other things. I think its all but ready to push some dirt.Could someone tell me what lube to use on the undercarriage? And also where is the file line for the transmission? Thanks in advance everyone.

Kenmcal, the fill line for the 22 transmission is on the right side just forward and above the pivot shaft. Filling the transmission to that level also fills the bevel gear compartment to the proper level.

Have fun playing in the dirt!!

Thanks Guys that helps so much! I have a track oilier that I used on the old D4 but it ran out last fall it had a really thick black almost grease looking lube in it. I think an ISO 680 or so should work what do you guys think?
