OKAY!!! Here is the "scoop": The locals finally convinced the one "Karen" of the entire Delta region that she was out voted by several thousand from the area, that the PEAR FAIR after a 2 year absence, must come back... I believe this will only be the 48th one they have had. It is perhaps THE oldest fair/parades in the state as I am told.
The Pear Fair celebrates the pear industry (yes, I have involvement) and all the greatness associated with pears of all shapes, colors and varieties. It is just a good old fashioned small town U.S.A. event that brings out many from ALL over! The Pear Princess contest, parade, vendors, FOOD and even pear themed "adult" beverages all fun...there is even a FUN RUN that takes one through the orchards and countryside. I have had my friends gorgeous daughter persuade me to join her, but she says I can get a closer look if I can keep running... PERHAPS I can have the infamous Deas Plant be my proxy and partake in the delightful "jog", afterall, he is ready with his High Viz short shorts...
If you have never had a "pear pie" this is the place to buy a slice or several whole ones.. All of the monies generated get put back to good use by the local volunteer fire department, the schools, scholarships. There will be some live music as well...
Chapter 15 will set up a tent and information table for folks that come by and ogle at some of the stuff we bring in. Anyone wishing to bring anything, just let me know please!
Our conversations do not require hip waders, maybe a little sunscreen and sunglasses. We will set up near a huge oak tree with shade.
If anyone would like to volunteer and "man" the table for any brief moment, it would be welcomed. Donnie Hays did a great job of it in past years, so I hope he reads this. That was a perfect place for him, as he is the bridge tender for the "Courtland" or "Paintersville" bridge, and he gets to say hello to MANY of the folks that he waves to each day.
It is just fun, come on out. Thanks JM

***Trainzkids, they have that as well! In past years I have noticed several LARGE mobile beer trailers as well. Glad to see that as much alcohol served to some, there has never been any signs of stupidity booze related. I will give tickets to Deas Plant if he wants to try out the bounce houses too! JM***

JM --- Deas in the bounce house --- are you selling tickets for the bleachers - what are ticket prices for that show?

Bouncy house? Last time we saw a pair of very hefty gals partake in something with an age limit of 10 I believe. Never seen so many upset little ones, as the HEFTY TWINS got wedged in the exit, and caused quite a ruckus when none of the tykes could get OUT. Did not stick around to see if the local fire department tried their chop saw, Jaws of Life, or just greased those two like a pair of porkers and extracted them that way. Greased pig race was not on the list of activities...

HAHAHA!!!!! LMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Was at my grandson's ball game the other day, girl down below on the bleachers had a rear end like a push block on a 657! And a crack in the middle, I had a shirt pocket with a bunch of pennies in it.......lol I thought hmmm....coin toss???? I just laughed and turned my head before I damaged my vision.
