Hi, trainzkid88.
I missed the DowNunda call but I was on the other two. The Americas call went for THREE hours and the European one for around two hours. BOTH were very peaceful and polite. Heck, they may have even been productive in some way.

Just my 0.02.

You have a wonderful day. Best wishes. Deas Plant.

The postcards were delayed due to legal review, they were primarily intended to inform people that do not get online and do not get email of the board's position on items listed on the card. It was not intended primarily as notice for the Town Hall meetings. I definitely would have like them out sooner, but it wasn't in the "cards".

We are discovering that there are problems within the emailing system, not an uncommon thing that can be due to several factors or combinations of factors. We have just started looking into why members that have email addresses on file, did not get an email. If you did not get an email, check your spam, if you can't find it, help us out by sending an email with the subject: "Email" to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. That way we can determine why and find a solution. If you don't let us know you didn't get it, we have no way of knowing there's a problem.

Postmark on my notice was 8 Nov at Sacramento CA. Even at its best, USPS never could deliver interstate in a single day. Planning that doesn't consider logistics isn't planning at all. Not meaning to be critical, I don't know that I could do any better. Human resources management is not my game. Could it be that we need to hire a professional business secretary to manage the boring details? I really have no idea how to go about it.

Did you get an email notifying you of the Town Hall meetings? If not please email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. with the subject "Email". The postcards were not meant as a notice for the meetings as much as they were intended to deliver the other information they contain.

We hope that transcripts will be available soon for those who did not have a chance to sit in on the Zoom meetings. Many postcards did not arrive until Friday here in N. California, so as much as I wish not to say, some that do not regularly visit this BB did not know, and missed out, asking what had happened.JM

I a hoping we can get the recordings posted soon, the forum will be first to know for sure. I also would like to see us make these Town Halls a regularly occurring feature of the Club.

I got the message in question 1 week-2 days ago via this BB.
I got the post card material on eighth of November which was the same material and included the link info to the meeting.
I got the post card via USPS on the eighth also.

I'm just pointing out a communication shortfall. I was unable to attend the meetings due to other occurrences. If I knew anything about organizations of any kind I would offer it. I have no affiliation with any chapter, although Portland, OR is just 60 miles away. (Original chapter?) I have gotten a great deal of valuable info from this BB and joined for no other reason but to support the club for this function and hopefully keep the BB up and running. Occasionally I can even offer some help to others who like old iron and compare highway yellow favorably to Rembrandt's finest.

If I have a problem keeping the old D7 hitting on all four, I go find someone who has the knowledge and experience to get to the bottom of it. If this club isn't hitting on all four, I would look for someone who has the knowledge and experience to get it tuned up, not take advice from someone like me. So, I shut up now. I wish you the best luck in getting the club issues sorted amicably and effectively.

Jack, I like your point of view and I am glad you're here. I take your comments as constructive criticism and the board deserves it in this case. There were some "behind the scenes" circumstances that delayed things added to the fact that most of the directors have "day jobs" and other commitments.

I am happy that you are paying attention, appreciate what the club offers, AND are willing to speak up.

yes a secretarial service might be a good idea. but it comes back to the point of having the spare folding stuff to pay for it.

yes all the board members have other commitments too, so the club as their hobby is second fiddle and always will be and shouldn't be anything else. thankyou to those who donate thier time.

In addition to the inordinate amount of time spent on this fiasco by the BOD and others, how many dollars have been spent defending and defeating the hostile takeover?
Curious minds want to know.
