For those of you who do not know, the National EDGE & TA 2010 Show has been awarded to Branches 3, 8 and 27 and will take place June 24-27, 2010 on the beautiful Santa Margarita Ranch in San Luis Obispo County, California.
Many of the organizers of this show were at the BSOT in Woodland in June and have asked for the assistance of some of the organizers of the BSOT. As long as I am not involved in the day to day planning of the show I am happy to assist.

It has been reported to me that the featured engine/tractor will be "Best of the West" which leaves open all of the wonderful engines/tractors/implements of the west coast. I am not a gas engine guy but I have agreed to work with them to round up a substantial number of California tractors as participants for the show. Carson Wiley of Arroyo Grande, CA and I will bring a realy nice lineup of Holt and Best tractors and we would like the members of ACMOC to turn out in full force to bring a wonderful display of California tractors. The organizers have informed me that (with a bit of prodding) there will be a daily parade of all of the tractors to entertain the crowds.

SOOOOOOO, please mark your calendars for June of 2010 and plan on bringing lots of stuff. For those of you who do not know about the Santa Margarita Ranch, it is about 1/2 way between San Francisco and Los Angeles on state hiway 101 in beuatiful San Luis Obispo, County. The ranch is about 17,000 acres and is stunningly beautiful and has an operational steam train that Rob Rossi has built and operates for special events like this. I am sure that this will be the last EDGE show in CA for at least 20 years and should not be missed. Please plan on bringing your wonderful old iron and having a GREAT TIME.

If you have any questions regarding this wonderful show, please contact Nancy @ 559 240-0148 or <a href="This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it." target="_blank">This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it., or contact me and I will be happy to put you in touch with Nancy.

Hope to see all of you in Santa Margarita in 2010.

Hey George W. Howard, can you put a sticky on this and is there any way that ACMOC would sanction this as their West Coast Show for 2010? It won't be the BSOT, but I think everyone knows that is likely to never happen again! I am still hoping that Portland, Indiana is awarded the 2010 National ACMOC show.

Pete:

The good thing is that Santa Margarita is only about 20 miles from my house and from the Pioneer Day barn. According to my wife and kids, THIS WILL NOT BE LIKE THE BSOT, will it!!!!!!! A man has got to know his limitations and I am aware that I pushed mine beyond the limits in 08 so that is fine with me.

So Pete, this will be a low key participation where we will not be hauling in half of the Holt and Best tractors in the free world. This is a National EDGE show and we are invited guests. I kind of like the sound of that.

Having said that, in the few days leading up to and following the show I am sure that we will need your help in moving a few pieces down the road a spell.

Tom

I spoke with one of the owners of the Ranch on Saturday and filled him in on what we as the tractor collectors would like to see on the Ranch and he is all for it. It sounds like we may be able to have an area to plant and harvest grain, plow and generally move a bunch of tractors around. I will get him a copy of the DVD from the BSOT so he can see what he is in for.

I know that Carson and Dan will have their small Holt harvester there and we are considering bringing in the big Harris Hillside Harvester from the Paso Robles Pioneer Day collection. We should have an abundance of plows and who knows what else to play with.

Hope to see lots of you guys there with your equipment. It is never too early to plan on attending and playing.

Hi Tom, The combine is all wrapped up for the winter at Dave's. Don't forget the threshing machine, we can bring that along too. Isn't 2010 the 100 year anniversary of the founding of the C.L. Best company? We could have one heck of a birthday party!

The Harris is coming along nicely.

Regards,
The Harvester Crew
