I've seen a similar video on YouTube using the same method to start what I think may have been a D6 engine, I can't remember exactly. I have a D13000 on a chassis with no pilot motor, it was used to run a sawmill apparently, I have considered trying to start it that way. I think I'd like to have an over run clutch in between my tractor and engine though. The one I've seen with the D6 engine used an over run clutch from memory.
