I recently purchased a D4D 84J421 and when not running with the fuel tank valve open the fuel siphons out of the fuel pump and onto the ground.  I have not checked to see if it
overflows when running.  I'm looking for suggestions on how to fix it.

Thanks.

I was an ACMOC member for a few years right after the group was started, when I owned a '36 RD4.
I sold the tractor and life went on, now I'm back in the Cat business.

I don't have any info for the issue, but welcome back - seems like it's hard to clean the Old Highway yellow off eh? : )

Cheers,

If your seeing fuel coming from the tell tale drain line from the auxiliary drive housing you have a bad seal in the transfer pump. Replace both seals.
