excellent - thanks :) keep it up.....something for us to aspire to; one day ;)

Out of interest where is the hyd. tank on your tractor, I'm guessing its not the small one found on the dozers with all the extra cylinders on the discs/drills/cultivators, no doubt some of them single acting you'll need some good volume

All of your pictures should be in some kind of coffee table book. What kind of camera are you using?

North Idaho Farmer:
Yes we used to farm east of Idaho Falls. Still have the farm, but its all in CRP. We use to farm the whole place with a 9U D6 and a D5, in the 80's we added and 8630 to the fleet for mobilty. Still have most of our equipment, we did sell both of our J.D. Combines. Both the Cats have cabs simmilar to yours equipped with AC & Heat. My dad hated the cabs at first, but it didnt take to long for him to appreciate them, beats the hell out of barebacking one of them. Our wheat yeilds down here don't compare to yours. Just about everyone in our area has gone to a spring crop no-till with either spring wheat or malt barley, there have been a few that have tried fall wheat right after taking off the crop but that hasn't payed out to well. When the rain is right they have raised some good crops. Some Chem Fallow not to much.
The way guys are farming now, with little or no tillage, it requires very special attention to their herbicide program, a good spray rid is a necessity.

Not many guys using the old steel tracked Cats anymore around here, mostly wheel tractors, Challengers, Quadtracks, and John Deere track machines now.
Thanks for the added pic's of the trucks, cats, and combines, good stuff. :)

I took all these with cheap fujifilm digital cameras. I am on my second one now, I like the ones that can fit in my pocket so I dont have to lug a case around with me. The quality and features are not the best but considering I use them in dirty conditions and they get banged around alot they have both done pretty good.

Sorry to here that, a fair amount of CRP put in here too, $45-$60/acre beat farming for awhile. Back in the mid 80s there were 18-20 farms right in my area, not a single one over 1,500 acres. Only 5 of us are left, along with 2 larger operations that have moved in from adjoining areas. Alot of the marginal land is in CRP still, the good ground is being pulled out and farmed again as us remaining farmers increase acreage.

Not sure if you have hills or how far east you are but I saw some pretty hilly country in the swan valley area down there. Looked like it was all in spring barley. What model of J.D. combines did you have? We ran a pair of 95-H for years then went one 6602 and 6622, then upgraded the 02 to a 22.

We almost ended up with a D5 instead of the D6C, our equipment was sized better for a D5 for the most part but the D6C was an excellent buy.

Nothing beats the look of work-shined tracks on a Cat, although those plow bottoms that could double as mirrors are pretty cool, too.

That is some beautiful country in the back ground and I would guess that it is steeper than it looks in the pictures
Nice Cats too of course, looks like a bunch of well cared for equipment
