I need a seal washer #4B0818 that the output end of the pony motor crankshaft oil seal rides on. Cat wants $111 for one. Does anybody have a NOS or good used one?

Thanks
Brian

bvandragt,
Try one of these sources as they each appear to have several in stock. They might have a better price.

I already tried Northwest Tractor Parts, the 3 that they show on the web were actually used and when they looked at them they decided they were in too bad of condition to sell.
I will try Poole.

The one that someone else was looking for and decided to have it made?

I decided to buy one from Gregory Poole Equipment. It is NOS and was $80. You can't get much made at a machine shop for that. It still seems way too high for a mass produced stamping though.

I think that's the problem Brian - they're no longer mass produced... Still, if you had a lathe, you could turn out a couple of dies and whip a hundred of them up : )

Hi Team,
from memory I believe that in later days these washers were chromed on the seal lip run surface for rust prevention and longevity of service.
This would add markedly to the expense.
An option may be to get reasonable older ones machined and chromed.
Cheers,
Eddie B.

I think that the OD is ground for finish and runout.

Yes, that is part of the reason I needed a new one, the chrome is starting to flake off near the seal lip. Also the inside thrust surface that runs against the end of the main bearing is severely pitted.
