Here is the road building equipment that fred beard (reynolds, nd) owned to build many of the roads here in traill county of north dakota. My dad, alvin lerfald (lerfald pioneer farm) was part of this operation as he owned an international td 9 crawler with dozer. Alvin assisted in the road building by pushing rocks off the pile that the caterpillar 42" elevator grader made eventually calling it the road! All of us boys that grew up on the lerfald pioneer farm (allan, duane, luther and darrell (buck) lerfald played in the ditches while constructing the roads here. Road construction started in the 30's and ended in mid to upper 50's. Fred beard was born and raised in the reynolds, north dakota area. My dad alvin lerfald was born ( october 1915 ) and raised on the lerfald pioneer farm on section 9 of morgan twsp of traill county north dakota and was still a kid working the farm thru the " dirty 30's . He retired from farming in 1985 and was taken home in december of 2000. This is most likely equipment that many people never knew existed or have never seen, until now! Luther lerfald on the lerfald pioneer farm, rural route at hatton, north dakota. The caterpillar equipment is a 42" elevator grader with a 4 cylinder gas engine (engine serial no. 6 a 33) (steel on back--tires on front), caterpillar 12' blade serial no. 6c 507, caterpillar 3 compartment fuel tank on wood (in shed since 1960).would like to sell all three units as a whole unit. 701.543.3609

I have ended up with a couple of "new" toys and looking a two more possibles this weekend so I might be a little shorter on play funds right now. I certainly have an interest though. They are not to terribly far from me. I inadvertently got close by there one weekend and called but never got an answer. In fairness I never left a message as we had to travel on.

sorry for the non-communication. too many things to do. my telephone number is 701-543-3609 at hatton, nd. i am 30 miles from hillsboro, nd where the two larger units ( mucker and blade ) are sitting at the museum there. heard from my brother that the john dealer had moved them but still in same area. just south of the burger king off I-29 AT HILLSBORO EXIT. would like to sell these as one complete package ( if possible ) as it would be good for the buyer too. make me a reasonable offer! the fuel tank is at the farm here. between reynolds, nd and hatton, nd. 10 miles west of I-29 or 8 miles west of reynolds, nd and 1 1/2 mile south. got too much to do and forget to check this forum. my gal that does my web sites puts this on front page when i tell her to. if you do not leave a message on my machine i will not call you back as i get way too many auto dial calls here. let me know what you think! luther lerfald
