D6 9U model with Upshaw cab?

This might belong in this section rather than discussion?
I purchased this neat little D6 model at an estate sale yesterday. I almost passed by it, as there was SO MUCH stuff to look at, it was blinding!
I am not a modeler, but I am very impressed by the details of this unit. Even missing a headlight just like in real life! (Probably broke off at sale)
Can anyone tell me about who "PUT" or "PVT" was?
this tractor obviously has features of a Pacific Northwest style tractor with the cab and other features. I love it!
Best $12.00 I ever spent! I even had to use a magnifying glass to remove the wires that held the transport chains.

Hi Team,
it is possibly a scratch built model made from plastic and other odds and ends all blended together.
I say that by the look of the surface finish texture on some of the parts--I stand to be corrected.
We have a local chap who scratch builds models of high quality.
Cheers,
Eddie B.

It was scratch built... It would be very interesting to know who built it and the history behind the tractor, since there was a serial number on the bottom. Was this a wintertime project of an aged farmer? Hmmmm? It isn't perfect by means, but considering it fits in the palm of my hand and has so much detail, I am very impressed. It has garnered the attention of some others that I shared with, I have refused to sell it so far! NOT for sale! Last offer was $100.00 though, that would allow me to profit more than any real crawler I have let go here.

That is a impressive job. I am not really into models ether why I am only now finding this beauty. Was the picture of the real tractor part of the deal or did you just find that. Because it does have the northwest add modifications like large fuel cap besides the cab and air cleaner.

Ray54: I would love to find out who built it and get "their" history. As mentioned, I stood my turn to pay for my goodies, and if I had not been at the back of the line, I likely would have walked past it again. The prints are by Don Greytak, and per his website, no more of these particular numbered prints available. I have seen a couple of D-2 prints he created; wondering what other sizes of Caterpillar tractors he penciled. Aside from the 5 hour drive to get home, it was a great day. JM
***the prints were stacked up downstairs in a room that held several thousand train cars and railroad items***
