Today the following advice has been received from the 2021 NHMA National Rally Committee:

'The Cudgegong Valley Antique Machinery Club regret to advise that due to the ongoing and volatile COVID-19 situation we have made the decision to cancel the 2021 National Historical Machinery Association Rally. President of the CVAMC, Brian Jones, said “This was not an easy decision as many people have been looking forward to the Rally, including ourselves.  However, the safety of our volunteers, exhibitors and visitors is of highest importance so we do not feel it appropriate to proceed with the event given the current COVID-19 situation.”

The Rally was set to be held at the Australian Rural Education Centre in Mudgee, NSW, in April 2021. CVAMC and AREC hosted the NHMA Rally back in 2013 and it was very successful and a great event for the Region. Any exhibitors that have already booked and paid will receive a full refund in the coming weeks. All interested parties will receive communication via email shortly. When a new date for the Rally is confirmed it will be posted on the CVAMC web site (cvamc.com.au).'

The NHMA Committee of Management will now commence negotiations with the Cudgegong Valley Club regarding the possibility of the club hosting the Rally at a future date.  It is hoped that further information can be supplied to member clubs by the end of this month.

DW21 4The Chapter has received a very generous donation of a DW21 86E4062 in water cart configuration. Whilst complete the Chapter does need to repair and reassemble the engine, but it will make a fine edition to the collection and come in very handy at the Summer Lake Goldsmith rallies to keep the dust down! A special thank you to Mark Gearon for the donation. Mark also has some other classic Cat's that he is keen to allow us to show at future rallies and the Chapter has agreed to provide Mark with a complimentary 3 year membership in appreciation of his support. The DW21 is pictured arriving at Steve Jackel's place - thanks Steve for making this happen!

PAshley 1I'm sad to advise that Chapter 19 member Peter Ashley passed away last week suddenly. Born on 3rd May 1947 Peter grew up in Clayton, his first employment was working for Feignins Timber after which he drove scrapers for Charlie Adams, Colin Brown, Gearon, Jackel and Bill Wade. He also drive fuel tankers for Shell before owning and operating his own Traxcavator. More recently he worked for McCleod Tree Services and set up his own stump grinding business. Peter had a lifelong love of cars, fishing, trucks and earthmoving machines and was always a smiling face at our dinner meetings. RIP Peter 3.5.1947- 5.11.2020.
