I also pulled the oil pan off the engine in order to check the bearings and clean it out. Everything looked good as bearings seem to all be tight and end play was fine. Oil pump screens need attention and tomorrow the pan will get steam cleaned.

I like to read between the lines and look beyond what is being photographed. That tells the real story. I see a guy with a shop that is obviously cleaned twice a week by a French maid. BTW, Happy Birthday a few days after the fact.

Nice progress there "old guy." ;)

Hey Bruce (B4D2),

Is there a new breed of French Maid out there that will clean workshops? The French Maids that I have been told about only like to clean a mans wallet.:help:

Bruce.…..Old man? Kinda the pot calling the kettle black I would think..... :)
I'll have you know shop is cleaned before going home and I don't think the French Maid would go over very well at home....LOL

Got the engine in pretty good shape now. Ordering gaskets probably today sometime. I have also got the bed on my Chevy C7500 sandblasted and ready for paint so got lots of projects to do.
Have a good day my friend......Bill

It appears the engine also was more of a problem than originally thought. I found a set of NOS . 20 over pistons....NOS valve springs, NOS Lifters, NOS Lifter Guides....crated it all up and sent it off to be completely overhauled. Just like the last two Chad did for me I know this engine will be in perfect running shape.
I also went ahead and had Rosewood send a set of manifolds.

There is more done but too tired to post tonight.

Again someone please flip the pictures....thanks!

Have a good evening.....Bill

Thanks Scott! I try to keep things in order as these projects are a challenge to say the least.

Here are a few more pictures.
The main spring before and after cleaning and blasting.

Spent several hours cleaning and sorting the "C" bolts to reuse where possible. I found several that were badly corroded in some structural areas that I replace with new "Cat" bolts.
