I have all the emails if anyone would like to see them. This is 100% proof that the idlers were represented as 23 inch. All reputable companies I have delt with pay for shipping if it was there fault. Not to mention the "restocking fee".I would not hesitate to pay it if it was my fault.Omnitrack is not interested in stepping up and doing the right thing.Enough said.

It is sad to see any business publicly talking negatively about customers. I am starting to see a pattern where customers are not happy. The thread title, "Use Caution" seems to fit.-glen

Hello, Mr Omnitrack.
You protest loudly your innocence in both the matters mentioned here and I'm not in a position to judge - which I wouldn't do anyway unless I happened to be directly involved in a less-than-satisfactory transaction with you - which I doubt will ever happen.

My suggestion to you would be to keep your business dealings squeaky clean in the future as there are a number of forums like this on the 'net and there is almost nothing that travels as fast as bad news. There have been some aspersions cast on your business dealings in this thread and, as unfortunate, unfair or unjust as it may seem to you, you WILL now need to PROVE to people here that you are honest and above board and that you DO give good service and supply good merchandise if you want to see much trade come your way from sites such as this.

I say 'sites such as this' because there are many people in the vintage machinery game who go to more than one site and I have no doubt that the postings here will become known on other forums.

Just my 0.02.

You have a wonderful day. Best wishes. Deas Plant.

A buddy of mine contacted Omnitrack for a bottom roller for his D2-5J and told me that he was very pleased with the help he got from Omnitrack.
Trust me, my buddy is not easily impressed.

I'm always sorry to see a thread like this get started anywhere. I've no doubt that two of Omnitrack's customers felt abused. I've also no doubt that Omnitrack had quite a few more than those two customers, and here's the rub. You can't please everybody all the time. Nobody can. And, there's absolutely no way to devine a percentage of satisfied customers/dissatisfied customers. So in the end this just goes nowhere, except for the sound advice first given: When you are buying used parts anywhere, for anything, you'd better use caution. The part you are looking for is probably the weak link in the machine and will be the hammered out piece in the junker that has been parted out to provide the replacment. You'd better take a close look and make your own judgment, then live with it good or bad.

I have the bad habbit of buying parts and not examining them until I am ready to install them. This has caused me a lot of extra non-paying space taking on the shop floor and occasionally I have had to eat a bad part, but it was my own dumb fault. So, definately use caution anywhere and do business in a business-like way. It will work better for all concerned.

I'm not defending anyone here or condemming any one either. I have found in my dealings that someone elese's definition of "good condition" may not be mine, always ask for pictures, and keep any emails regaurding the transaction. Just my 2 cents. Bob Stewart.

Dumb mistake, maybe? That doesn't excuse it but it happens. I don't question you have a gripe there. That sure looks like misrepresentation but I can't really judge. I wasn't there. Freight is definately a big item now; you shouldn't have had to bear all the cost. I still say your "Use caution..." is good advice. Act promptly, like the day of delivery, is also good advice.

I ordered a piston & ring set for a JD 720 once. the pistons were correct, but the rings were for something else and i didn't check them immediately. I already had the pins fitted when I found the mistake. The dealer didn't do a thing about it; i had to buy JD rings. If I had just checked when the package arrived... S___ happens. I think usually it happens seldom enough to not want to drag a dealer through the dirt, but "Use caution" is always in order.

Jack makes a good point about waiting too long and then expecting a refund. I ordered a complete replacement Hutch suspension for my dropdeck a few years ago. Stopped at the dealer and they did all the measuring to make sure it was right. It came in and I opened it far enough to get the spring hangers and equalizers out and replaced all the mounts on the trailer. It was 6 months later before I got around to replacing the mounting pads on the axles. Guess what, right they were wrong. The dealer would take them back for a 25% restocking fee and I had to pay shipping back to the factory. That left about 23 cents I think and I still had to buy the correct parts. It happens, but I should have checked everything right away instead of several months later.
Live and learn I guess.
Jim
