I have saved a number of links to threads that I want to recall. Will the links to these threads be the same in the new website?

Delta KJ,

We are trying very hard to preserve as much history as possible when the migration to the new site is done. We just don't know how well that process will work at this point.

no more,

That will still be an option for "Registered Users" as it is now.

A "Registered User" will be someone who signs into the website but is not an "ACMOC Member" who will have Full Access.

All,

In lieu of being able to initiate three original posts before losing Full Access privilege's as I stated in my original announcement, a new "Registered User" will have a 21 day interval between his first post and the expiration of his Full Access. For Full Access to be retained, one must become an "ACMOC Member" by joining up.

We are approaching the Go Live date and I think everyone will be pleased with the new site.

I encourage anyone with comments to respond to Director John Gaunt's other thread.

Wow, the whole idea of not being able to see attachments when looking for help kind of sucks. You don't make enough money from ads to allow CAT owners to help each other out when we're in a bind? I'm not interested in a magazine or voting rights. Just need help when my equipment breaks, few times a year.

You will be able to see all attachments if you join for the Small cost of
$40 for a year. The amount we receive from adverts is minuscule.
Surely $40 for help to fix your breakdowns 3 or 4 times a year is peanuts!
If we do not get the club on a sound financial footing you could lose access to the bb
Completely!
Best regards John

I guess it's not the dollar amount but the principle of paying for internet forum access. Same thing happened to a log cabin club I paid to join, few years later they setup a new website and wanted to charge me $400 one time fee to gain access to forums I had already had access to for years, total BS money grab.

Oh well, good luck I guess.

$40.00 for a year of access is nothing in comparison to an hour of shop labor at a dealership, which btw is roughly $160/hour and climbing out here. The paltry amount for membership is a heck of a deal, I gladly pay it. Most forums will direct you back to this group to find answers. Of course, one could just buy some service manuals and such, and figure things out on their own.

Last I checked a good service or parts manual will cost you more than $40! Much thought was put into this change but as Director John Gaunt has indicated, the club can no longer exist if we can't pay our expenses.

Thank you JM for the great review. I firmly believe that many on this BB share your opinion.
