Saturday, November 1st, 2008 in Chino Hills, CA 91709

It's that time again! The weather is cooling off, most of the summer/fall truck and tractor shows are over, and most of you (except perhaps Willie) have recovered from the BSOT.
So what better time to gather with friends and Old Cats for a PLAYDAY!

This year we have a 3 acre sloping site that needs to be leveled for an arena, so there is plenty of room for one and all. All makes and models, tracks and wheels, are welcome. Dirt movers like dozers, scrapers, graders, rippers and subsoilers are appreciated.

For those with heavy toys to unload there is a JD 444 loader and a 4000 lb forklift on site.

Please inform your friends that may not read this board, everyone is welcome.

If you plan to attend please PM or email me your contact info and what you might bring. I will reply with details. We are out in the hills with no physical address to map. Also I need a headcount for lunch.

See you there!

Thanks for all of the help hauling all of the stuff back to Paso. I certainly appreciate all of the help that you, Pete and Mike provided this weekend, Hammer trucking too! Next weekend will be fun, just come and enjoy Willie and then you can get back in the cab of the truck and haul a bit more after a few relaxing days.

Pete, start a new thread with the pics of the last 2 gang hauls to Paso.

Willie-
Too Far?? Fontana is about a half hour from here and Vista is two hours further south!

Does someone have something for Willie to haul on Nov 1st? He will only drive long distances with an antique tractor on board.. :)

Replied by carlsharp on topic Started on a 22
I thought I'd try and get a 22 running, so I started on this one:

www.acmoc.org/ACMOC_BB/showthread.php?t=3233

So far so good-
I checked the drain plugs in the finals and trans, both full of clear golden honey, not a drop of water or speck of dirt. The engine had so much gunk on the bottom the oil would not come out, so that needs to be cleaned out. Steering compartments were dry.

The fuel tank, lines, bowl and carb were spotless, no dirt, rust, dried gas nothin. How lucky is that?

That mag throws a fat blue spark, but I checked the points and cleaned the cap and impulse anyway. It has a funny assortment of plug wires, one yellow, one blue, one gray and one white, but they are solid core and all seem to work.

The cylinders look clean and bright thru those huge spark plug holes, and the ring groove is tiny as felt with a welding rod. I shot some oil in and gave it new plugs.

Next on the the fuel pump and general lube/adjust. The only real issue so far is the rad cap bolt rusted off...

Well I got about 300 feet of fence down and the plumbing capped in our work area. Buddy Dave topo'd the whole area, established our cut/fill line and set all the tops and toes before going in for rotator surgery today. Big thanks. If anyone wants to grade check you're welcome to bring along your bags and rag up some wood...:)

If anyone has the ways, means and skills, it would be neat to have the first playday streamed live on the internet. We have WiFi at the ranch and the observation area is about 30 feet above the work area so the view will be fantastic.

Let me know if it's something you can do..

Thanks

Come on down Glen, you'll be the hardest working/playing guy there:D

Got any thing BIGGER for me to push (like a 660:eek: )? I'm going to have my freshly rebuild High Output D8 and D4 at the gathering.

Look forward to seeing you there.

Hey Carl would you post an address so we can look it up?

Glen, I would be honored to have you there, there's plenty of room for bigger iron.

Mike, we don't have an official address, we're off the path. :) I'll be happy to email/fax/mail a map or call for directions.

My number is 909 322-0714
Please note that on the day of the event I won't be answering that phone. If you need anything call the ranch directly,
909 597-4920. I will try to have someone monitoring the phone.
