I don't think anyone wants to receive #164 more than me. I'm the author of the feature article and I am one of the "Members of the Year" in the same issue.
I have been told there has been difficulty compiling the mailing list. I am in contact with Tony (Deebo) quite often with my additions to the ACMOC library. Tony has been so friendly and patient that I feel we have become friends. Tony said in his post that the magazine will be mailed hopefully next week.
This club was faced with many problems for years. The ability to just "table" the problems and hope that maybe somehow they would go away was no longer possible.
I look forward to ACMOC gaining ground in a sustainable fashion.
Sincerely,
Craig

Progress is being made to get the magazine out to the membership. Craig describes what is causing the delay in his above post. We are all volunteers doing what needs to be done in the time that we can commit to working for this Club. This is not a 9 to 5 job and the pay sucks!

Big shout out to you Jan. Many of us realize how much YOU do to put the magazine, and it can be a Herculean effort at times. Hopefully the glitch in the mailing lists will be rectified, making the future issues a breeze. I like my magazines too, but glad it can be read online as well.
Thanks again for all your hard work. JM

I must be the odd one out, I had a 200% pay increase this year!
Remember though that 200% of nothing is still nothing !!!!!
Seriously, we can use all the help we can get so how about some more folks stepping up to the plate  to do a bit to help.
It was J. F. K who said “ask not what your country can do for you but what you can do for your country”.
in our case replace “country” with “club”.

Yea! I got a feeling it just went in there own pockets and they said adios sarnia!!!!!!!

I fully understand that everyone wants to get their magazine, and the delays in getting this out rest squarely on my shoulders. As usual, Jan has done a great job in compiling another fantastic issue.

I do find the above comment to be particularly unhelpful and very far off-base. Rome, I respect your knowledge and contribution here, but I also want to be very clear that there is no one within this organization that receives one cent (or any other amount) for the time and effort they put into the club. Several directors have paid out of pocket for things the Club needs with no reimbursement. I personally made two trips to Peoria this year, a 12 hour round trip, paid for fuel, hotels, meals, rented a trailer, loaded the trailer, rented storage in Kansas City, paid for that storage and continue to do so out of my own pocket. Further, I loaded two pallets of goods for sale at Santa Margarita, loaded them onto a Fedex Truck and paid for the shipping. I have not asked for, and will not ask for reimbursement of those (not small) expenditures. There are other directors that have been equally generous with their own funds and certainly their time investment. As another example, Jan was offered a small (and very deserved) stipend for his time and effort editing our magazine, which he flatly refused. I have a great deal of respect for all the people that volunteer for this Club, it is a small number, but they are essential in every way, and deserve the gratitude of us all.  To suggest that anyone involved with the operation of the Club would "pocket" anything is offensive, and out of line, I hope that this post can help you and all understand why.

It is my fault for not having the software issues ironed out in advance, and I am apologetic for that, but let's turn our thoughts to support for the few volunteers that carry the burden of operations of the Club.

Hey Rome, I thought your post was just another of your satirical comments!! Usually you have a photo to go along with the comment!!!

Gosh, I hope we all survive the magazine being a few days late! Thanks for all the work that goes into the great magazine!!

My hat is off to all of our Board Members and those people that selfishly volunteer their time. Without them, there would be no club.

Craig,
Some of us could not wait so had to read it online.  Great Story!
The only sad thing about your seismograph foray was you didn't find oil on my land!!
