Yes, I probably do. If you contact Jim Zimmerman, you may be able to secure parts for the 8800 engine. Telephone in the US 641-982-4207 (voice), or FAX 641-982-4297. GWH

ktmrider, The Wide swamp Ten is not for sale. I have been on Jim's list to purchase it for as long as he has owned it. He just enjoys playing with it. It's got a harvestor motor in the tractor and not the correct Ten engine. Greg

Some of these tractors appear complete enough to be rebuildable from here; is this so?

mgood, probably so. Especially the gas Fifty. He does expect to restore the Best Sixty. As for the Holt Ten Ton, it needs an engine, but is otherwise pretty much all there. There is a difference between being restorable and being restorable and saleable at the amount of money tied up in the machine. What looks good to you may not result in a profit to Jim if he restores it, so it may be a good looking or complete tractor, but to him it is a parts tractor. Based upon his experience, he is pretty particular about the machines that he is willing to put resources into restoring. You might say his standards have risen over the years based upon hard economic experience. If you can do the work yourself, you can afford to be less picky. GWH

OK this may be a hard question to answer; but to restore a tractor such as the Fifty; would the estimate be around roughly 4 times what it would cost to restore from scratch a wheel type ( Ill through one in) a GB Moline in rough shape; or would the cost of doing the work Myself be 5x or more?

Mgood,

The math you have suggested as cost of restoration may only be applicable depending on the depth and detail of the restoration you undertake. I restored a wide large Twenty and a buddy of mine a small wide Twenty orchard and with the tractor costs we each have close to $20k into each tractor. The motors were redone but trans and finals serviced only. Much new metal, good tracks, thorough paint and automotive level show-car detail so it's a metter of how much and how far you are willing to go. Greg
